Obtain two annual reports of the same industry - one of a local financial institution and the other of a foreign financial institution (e.g. commercial bank/insurance firm/pension fund -the annual reports may be available online). The annual reports will allow you to relate the theories in specific related chapters to the particular financial institutions of concern. Use the annual reports or any other related information to answer the following questions:

(a) Identify and describe the type of business of the financial institutions you have selected. Compare and contrast them. (15 marks)

(b) Explain in detail how they raise funds and how they use their funds in their business. (15 marks)

(c) Analyze any regulation, economic and market conditions that are affecting their performance. (25 marks)

(d) On July this year, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has increased the overnight policy rate (OPR). How does this move affect the local financial institution (you have selected)?(25 marks)

(e) Describe the direction of both financial institutions in the near short to medium term plan. (20 marks)
